January Favorites

Hey guys!  Totally forgot to put this post up a few days ago, but I uploaded my January Favorites on Wednesday. As usual, I mention my favorite things over the past month in beauty, hair, fashion, food, music, and books. I definitely loved a lot of new music this month so if you need new music to listen to, or inspiration for new things to try, check out the video!

When Nothing Seems To Be Going Right

Hey guys! Again sorry for not blogging over the past few days. School happened and I've been busy. There was also talk of the huge winter storm but that was a major disappointment. Ever since I woke up, there have been many negative things that have been happening to me. Class wasn't cancelled. My pants ripped (before I got to class). I missed the bus so had to walk back (at night and it was scary) and almost ran into a deer (it scared me and was staring so I had to walk far away from it). Also I was up on North Campus from 10-8 so I was basically gone all day.  But I had a few positive things that got me through the day. My favorite YouTuber noticed me twice in a row. I had a nice catch up with an old friend at Starbucks, and I listened to Meghan Trainor whenever I could.  So basically, when things go wrong, try to get in touch with old friends and listen to songs that always make you smile.  How has your day been? -Lexi

Song of the Day

Hey guys! I have no control over my music moods. Currently it's been Meghan Trainor on repeat, especially Bang Dem Sticks and Walkashame.  When I'm feeling down, I tend to listen to her more because her songs are all about loving yourself and making sure you're treated right and just have fun. First week of school has been hectic so it makes sense why I've been listening to those songs for the past week. It also helps that her album was released last week (or maybe even earlier).  But right before then I was all about FOUR (specifically the second half of the album that I neglected). So my moods just have a mind of their own but I love them all the same.  What song do you currently have on repeat? -Lexi

Thinking of Spring

Hey guys! As much as I love sweater weather, I've spent today thinking about warmer weather.  I can't wait to want to explore my town more and just stroll around admiring the view. Right now everything is just dull. I like it more when it's snowy looking and the melted snow vibe is no fun. I also can't wait for the day that the sun won't set at 4 and rise at 7:30. It's very depressing.  Anyone else a bit bored with winter? -Lexi

Early Bird

Hey guys! Not much exciting things happened today.  I woke up early (6ish) and wasn't dead tired, so that's a little victory for changing my body clock to the time I want it to be, which in a perfect world, I go to bed at 9 and wake up at 5, but for now, I want to get into the habit of going to bed at 10 and waking up at 6. Half of my friends think I'm crazy, and the other half are trying to get on the same schedule.  I would like to call myself both an early bird and a night owl (but more of an early bird). As a kid, my body clock woke me up around 5 every day (woke up with the birds), but as I got older, it went a bit later till like 7. I would fall asleep when my parents told me to (which was around 9) but now it's a bit closer to 11 on average.  I also have the potential to be a night owl, which is much easier when I'm with others and talking. At a sleepover, I'll be wide awake at 3am while everyone else is falling asleep. Always the last to fall asleep and fi…

My Winter Shoe Collection

Hey guys! Wednesday is video day over here, so here's a short little video about my winter shoe collection.  I have added to this collection, and it's taken me a while to get to this point, and most of these (actually probably all) were birthday/Christmas gifts.  But, I love watching collection videos, especially shoes or makeup, and I hope this doesn't disappoint too much! What's your favorite winter shoe? Mine would definitely be any of my UGGs, they are so comfy! -Lexi

First Day Back

Hey guys! The first day back to classes is always stressful, especially when you have all new classes and a whole new schedule to get used to.  My day ended up being pretty awesome! I caught up with my friends, found all of my classes easily and I'm really excited about them (but still dreading all the work I'll have to do).  Tomorrow will sort of be another "first day" since most classes at my university run on a monday-wednesday-friday or tuesday-thursday schedule.  But another exciting thing that happened today was such a relief to get, because my last clearance came in the mail, and I can sort out all of that out in between classes tomorrow.  So far, textbook costs seem to be pretty low, and I'm hoping it stays that way.. How was everyone's first day back? Or week? Month? -Lexi

Ever Wonder Which Bag You Should Unpack First?

Hey guys! So, since I spent my entire night packing, traveling, and unpacking, I'd say it was the fastest pack/unpack yet.  Here are some things that I've learned along the way.
Pack the little things first. Anything that you know won't be able to fit into the suitcase. For me, it was my shoes, accessories, and makeup/skin products. Fit everything else into the suitcase, but make sure to properly fold everything first. I have yet to learn how to maximize the space in a suitcase, but I usually go with the throw in everything I need, and see how much I need to squeeze in and refold and place until it all fits method. But by the end, everything ends up being layered in a sort of domino effect/spiral staircase manner. Go through the entire contents of your room and double check, physically go through every drawer/closet/ basket that you own. Make sure that everything essential is with you. (Almost forgot my pajamas if it weren't for this). For unpacking, it's a trickier…

Crazy Weekend

Hey guys! First off, let me apologize for not posting anything last night. The evening turned out different than planned and I was out late and didn't have a post done in time.  Which leads me to my second point, which is that this weekend is very hectic for me. I've spent it so far saying goodbye to my closest friends and avoiding the inevitable, packing. My head has not quite grasped the fact that by the end of the day, I need to go to CVS for school things, Acme for food, pack up everything I need for at least the rest of the winter, gather my school work and grab anything I may need, and hopefully get to school and move in by bedtime. At nearly 11, nothing on this list is done yet. I'm hoping to get to CVS around noon (did my research and is supposed to close at 4:30 so I'm giving myself a little wiggle room). Acme will happen as soon as my mom is back home. Before and after Acme, I need to first get my school stuff together, then pack. Hopefully it will all be done…

One of Those Do Nothing Days...

Hey guys! Today was a rather boring day. Was supposed to go to Starbucks with my friends (we go there all the time), but those plans got cancelled. It was a nice day to catch up on videos on YouTube and catch up with reading blogs and social media and all that sort of stuff. Experimented a bit with makeup and tried using my eyeliner as a base to make my look more winter-y. Result wasn't all that bad, and I plan to keep up with the technique to improve it.  I also have made a few mental notes for what I should pack and when I should go back to school since classes begin on Tuesday. (Sunday afternoon/night is my aim) It was a nice mental health day. All break I have been either seeing family and friends or doing errands for my parents, so I've been kept busy, and having a break day was nice.  What do you like to do when you have an entire day free? -Lexi

Back To School Tips

Hey guys, as everyone is starting to go back to school (or may have been in school for a week or more), I thought I would share my study tips that I have figured out over the years.  The main thing to keep in mind is to work first, and then party later. set yourself daily goals, split up the work you need to do. Then, once those things are accomplished, you have the rest of the night free. And if straight working is too much, do a reward system as you go (which I find most helpful). For example, if you have to read 5 chapters of a book, after each chapter, watch a youtube video, or catch up on social media, or even grab a bite to eat.  Along the lines of setting daily goals, I love making lists. Just write out the things you need to do, and sort of plan them so that the hard or mandatory assignments are out of the way. Isn't it just so satisfying to see a long list be crossed off? These lists just help with prioritizing and can even help get ahead.  I waited way to long for this one,…

December Empties

Hey guys!  This was a video I was supposed to upload last week but then the whole fresh start thing happened and here the video is! I have a new YouTube channel to match this blog, which is where you can find my new video. As you do in any empties video, I review the things I have finished completely. During December, I happened to use up my CND Cucumber Heel Therapy and my Maybelline Mega Plush mascara.  Both products were lovely, but I don't think I would repurchase either one. I believe the heel therapy is a tad bit expensive for my budget, and at this point, nothing compares to the Falsies mascara.  I hope you enjoy the video and I hope it was helpful, and it would mean a lot to me if you could also subscribe.  Have you tried either of these products? Are there any products that you recommend I try? -Lexi

Putting Priorities in Order

Hey guys! Today did not turn out like I had anticipated it would. Firstly, I planned to upload a video that I had planned to go up last week. Then, I had to go out at some point and finish one of my 4 (5?) clearances that I need for my education classes. That's it. Just those two things needed to be done at one point in the day. Oh and maybe watch an episode of Game of Thrones (currently in the middle of season 3). And of course, cleaning up my room and catching up on my YouTube subscriptions and reading blog posts are always on the agenda.  Well, two of those things happened. Before I even got out of bed, I read quite a bit of a fanfic I had started about a week ago. Then, I watched an episode of GoT, as planned. After the show, I had to feed the dog, then suddenly decided I had to continue reading, at least until my kindle died. But then it almost died when I was nearly 3 chapters before the end. So I told myself it was okay to finish the book. Before I knew it, it was nearly 1, …

A Fresh Start

Hey guys! In case you haven't noticed already, I've decided to start all over with blogging and vlogging.  So what am I going to be blogging about? Basically the same as before, but more. I still want to blog about my beauty and fashion obsessions but now I want to incorporate other aspects of my life as well. I want to talk about everything. The books I'm reading, the shows I can't stop watching, the recipes I have attempted, you name it!  What I plan is to start daily blogging about more lifestyle things, with a weekly video about beauty, fashion, or skincare as well. So, basically, my blog will be a reflection of my day. Posting will most likely be at night, and no set date on the video, although I will try for Wednesday, or Sunday uploads.  I know I'm excited about this new change in my life, and I can't wait to share it with you.  Thoughts on this change? -Lexi

Goals for 2015

Hey Guys! It's officially the new year! I thought I would make a little video to talk about the highlights of the past year and some goals I hope to achieve in the new year. You can check out the video here
Last year was such a great year. This blog has started to take off, I made a YouTube channel, and I made many more friends both in internet land and in real life. It was also the year of notices from my favorite YouTubers and I'm still in shock. I also went to the One Direction concert, where I had a floor seat and was the closest to them than I had ever been. Also, the other week when I was in NYC there was another encounter with 1D and I still can't believe what happened. Last year was also the first year where I truly started to live on my own.
But I have a feeling that this year will be even better and that 2015 will be the best year yet! There are a few goals I hope to reach in terms of internet land. I would love if my YouTube channel could reach 50 subscribers. I…
