My Favorite Moisturizer With A Twist

It's not a secret that I fell in love with the Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin, but I wanted to branch out and try the other moisturizers in their range. First up is the Combination Skin version.
In my first impressions post about this, I fell in love with this quickly! Just like the sensitive version, the bottle is exactly the same, so I always had the perfect amount with the pump and it was see through enough that when held up to a light, I would know when I'm running low. It's also scentless, which is a hugeee plus as lately scents that don't agree with me give me a headache.
As for how it actually works, I prefer it night than morning, although it did help some with controlling oil during the day. That's also no surprise as with any skin product, it always works best at night as that's all your skin is focusing on.
When I first tried this, it was exactly what I was looking for, but now that I've used it, it might not be for me. I've …

Weekly Catch Up: 7/30/16

Here's the things I've been watching, reading, and listening to over the past week!
Watching: I'm all up to date on all things Sprinkle of Glitter, and now have moved on to catch up with Mrs. Tanya Burr! On the TV front, I love watching HGTV when I eat, and my favorites are anything Property Brothers and I love Fixer Upper as well!
Reading: Still no books, but I do love a Poppy Deyes blogpost! Any suggestions for an easy read that I can get lost in quickly?
Listening: So I downloaded Ariana Grande's album so I'm enjoying when that plays on shuffle. I also love love love Daya's Sit Still, Look Pretty. JoJo also has a new song with Wiz Khalifa and I haven't heard it yet, but I promise it'll be a tune! Oh I also love Sia's Cheap Thrills still and yesterday I was in the best mood listening to Meghan Trainor (especially Watch Me Do and Me Too). And how can I forget how much I love Lauren Alaina's Road Less Traveled??? Such a music filled week, it's …

Giving Mists A Go...

For years, I hear all my favorite bloggers and vloggers go on and on about face mists. I never even thought why it was such a big deal, especially since my face has enough of a glow already, why on earth would I want to add to that? I also was skeptical if they even work... But then I get my hands on a little Honest Beauty Gift where their Elevated Hydrating Mist was included and then I just had to try it!
I had zero expectations for this. I've never used a mist, so how can I expect anything other than my face getting wet? But since this is my first time using a mist, I knew how to apply it, but I didn't know when and that's when Google comes in handy. Google says it's best after you cleanse so you get a better effect with the moisturizer.
I first tried this at night, after having a face mask on, so my skin was being treated to the nines that night. First off, the smell isn't my favorite. I think I get a slight headache from it...and when I applied it, all I need is …

A "Backup" Haul

I am a huge fan of getting backup products so I never go without that "OMG" moment of not being able to use a product and then panic shop to get a replacement. This is basically a haul of all the things I'm soon to run out of.

Okay maybe I don't need another bronzer..but you can never have too many, right?? Also the packaging on the Lorac Tantalizer is too cute so you can't not have it...

I only have this Aveeno moisturizer because I've been very dedicated to Neutrogena, so much so that I've tried basically all their moisturizers and I wanted something equally as good, so this is what my manager recommended...

This Matrix So Silver shampoo isn't a backup, but I did need something to balance the orange is my hair...

I swear by the NYM Dry Shampoo, so why not give the Unscented version a go?

I can just feel my face scub running out, and since I trust Neutrogena with my skin, I decided to give their scrub a go!

Weekly Catch-Up: 7/23/16

Here's the things I've been watching, reading, and listening to over the past week!
Watching: I just finished catching up with Sophie Foster's videos (which I love love love!), and now I have moved on to catching up with Sprinkle of Glitter. When I'm catching up on my sub box, I have really been enjoying the Zalfie gang videos! Zoe, Alfie, Poppy, and Sean are my favorites at the moment and seeing them all have fun together is just so heartwarming. Is that even a thing?
Reading: I still haven't picked up any actual book yet, but I have been catching up on my Bloglovin feed! Vivianna Does Makeup is always my favorite, but I'm so excited for her little rebranding that I just want it to happen already...
Listening: Still no actual album to obsess over, but I've been back into Ariana Grande as I love Into You, I also love the new 5SOS song, Girls Talk Boys, for the Ghostbusters soundtrack. I also love Zayn's song Like I Would.

I Still Don't Know If This Is Supposed To Be a Conditioner, Oh Well...

As you can tell,  I had no idea what to title this post as I just tried the John Masters Citrus & Neroli Detangler. I know it can be used as a leave in conditioner, but that whole concept to me is foreign, so I use it as a conditioner.
The only thing I've heard about this before trying it, was my friend from work mentioning that the scent was a spice scent, kind of a fall vibe, but the "bad kind of fall". I mean, it made me wary, but scents are so personal, I was trying to keep an open mind. Turns out I really like the scent, as I smell more citrus, with a bit of an after-smell of spice.
As far as conditoners are concerned, I'm not picky what so ever. They all work for me. My only complaint that I have so far, is that because of the size and design of the bottle I have, it's not the best to judge how much conditioner I need, and I'm pretty sure I erred on the "not enough" side.
So as far as first impressions go, it definitely detangled, but as far …

I Really Wanted To Like This Serum...

If you had read my impression on Vichy's Neovadiol Magistral Elixir, you would have known that I didn't get along with this serum. I loved their aqua one, but this is definitely aimed for anti-aging. I didn't really have any benefits from this, and I think it made my skin a bit oilier. But rightly so as this was not aimed for my needs at all. I wanted to try and find a way to make it work, but I also found that the sample's packaging made it near impossible to have a consistent application each time and it was messy.
I hate being so negative about a product I shouldn't have even tried yet, but I guess we can take it as a warning for oily/combination skin types who are in their early twenties.

Weekly Catch-Up: 7/16/16

Here's the things I've been watching, reading, and listening to over the past week! Oh and the posts will no longer be every day as I've ran out of things to try and I need to start using things up. I feel like it'll be like this: posting Friday, Saturday and Sunday until I have too many things to try, and then posts will be daily, until I run out, and you get the picture.
Watching: So I've caught up with Alfie's daily vlogs over on PointlessBlogVlogs, and today I've watched every single of Sean's videos over on his channel, Seanelliotoc. I'm not sure which videos I'll be binge watching now, but I'll figure it out!
Reading: I have not read all week. I'm still thinking about it. Really in the mood to read. I have a long list of books to read, but I have not been hit by the book worm yet, but I hope I will be soon.
Listening: Earlier today, I had no idea what I was going to talk about, as all I listen to nowadays is Ulta's playlist. I h…

One Day I'll Wear Mattes With No Problem...

Why is it so hard for me to wear matte lip products? It's either hit or miss, but even when it's a hit, I still have to learn to not lick my lips every two seconds. Somehow I need to forget the product is there...
So I gave the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan a go. The color is NOT what's on the tube, so be warned. I still liked the color, but it's more of a bright pink with purple undertones, not the nudey-pink that's displayed. Regardless, NYX has that buttery formula down. It feels like a dream, but like most matte lip creams I've tried, you have to mix it with your lips and give it a bit to set, but once all's said and done, it's a very comfortable, non-drying matte. This lasted a good 4 hours before I started to take note of it's matte-ness and it started to not look at cute, but for like a 6 dollar lip cream, what more can you expect?
Again, I'm thankful I tried this in the summer because of it's boldness, but I still need to get used …

Dark Circles? Fake It Up!

I don't want to jinx myself, but I was never one to truly need to cover up any circles under my eyes. Brighten, yes, but that's it. That being said, I've become addicted to making my under eyes perfectly bright. Here's my first go at trying Benefit's Fake Up.
I originally thought this was going to be thick as I'm not used to putting any kind of stick under my eyes, I've always had liquid. I felt dumb shortly after, since the clear bit around the actual concealer is meant to make the application as smooth as liquid. I was also a bit wary of the color, I know the kit this came in was a standard one, so having a medium color under my eyes when I usually go for light was making me think it would definitely conceal, but maybe not be as bright. Why did I ever doubt Benefit?
I wasn't totally wrong about the color, it wasn't as bright as I hoped, but definitely not as dark as I expected either. I'll call it a happy, workable medium that is probably best f…

Double Duty Lip Sculpting Perfection

It's a known that I love lip things. Make it a two-in-one product and I'm even more sold. That's where Tarte's Double Duty range comes in handy. Part of it is their lip sculptor, which is both a lipstick and gloss, and I picked the color Voltage, which is a pink with subtle brown undertones.
First thoughts are that the lipstick is very pigmented and feels lovely on my lips and the gloss is butter smooth, so I was a happy camper this morning! I wasn't sure how long the color would last, so I put it to the test and wore it to work, like I always do...
Basically, it wore off better than I thought, with minor pooling as it dried, but that's most likely from the lipstick. Lasting power was pretty good too! I first applied at nearly 9 and it had completely worn off by 2, so that's 5 hours..holy moly I didn't realize that. Honestly I was going to write this off as standard 3 hour lasting power as I thought I applied when my shift technically started, and I ate …

Honey, I Wanna Glow

It's funny, customers always mention how the Grab & Go section is a dangerous place because of all the little bits and bobs, but they don't even know what it's like for anyone working there because we are constantly surrounded by it and all of it's changes. Any time I see something new, I'm like a moth to a flame. So, when a Laura Geller Illuminator display was in front of me for a month, and I swatched all the colors for a month, I decided enough was enough and got me that Gilded Honey. It's a summer thing, but I love that bronze look and gold highlighters are the perfect thing, so that color was sorted. Also the packaging is so pretty, I don't want to use it that much so it gets destroyed...
But at the end of the day, this turned out to be a standard highlight that isn't a surprise. It lasts a while and looks just as beautiful on your face as much as it does on your wrist.

How Savage!

I love me some Urban lipstick, so why not try their gloss? Way back when I got my Gwen palette and some other Urban bits, I spent enough to get a gift with purchase, and got a bag with mascara and gloss, the gloss being the High Color Lipgloss in Savage. Now, because I'm impulsive and want to stick to the latest things, I put trying this out on the back-burner. It also seemed very bold for me. Bold lips are something I always hope to be something I don't have to think about, but for now, I have to carefully plan my look so I still look like me when I wear them. Savage is the brightest pink I have now, so it was even more intimidating as pinks are a hard one for me as I need brown/purple undertones to best suit me because the more Barbie pink shades just look off. I was surprised twice with this color once I had it on my lips. When first applied, it was in my poorly lit room and it looked pretty natural looking, which was a shock as it was supposed to be highly pigmented as the na…

I See a Theme of "B"

Firstly, apologies for this being up later than usual, I've just been busy with work. But on to the haul that seems to have a sort of a "B" theme...

I had been eyeing up this Rosebud balm probably since the first week I started working at Ulta. It's in the grab and go section and I'm a sucker for lip balms. I had held off buying it simply because I already have 4 balms that I need to try, but when my friend strongly recommended I buy it because she loves it, how could I refuse?

I had all of 5 seconds to look at this Buxom lip gloss set before I decided I needed it in my life. I really love sets/kits/small packaged things and so when it's at such an amazing deal, the only thing stopping me for a second was the brightness of one gloss. But as you can see, I caved as my one manager suggester that I only need to put on a sheer coat and it'll look fine.

And to keep with the Buxom gloss theme, I received a sample size of their Dolly gloss. So beautiful, such a me …

Weekly Catch-Up: 7/9/16

Sorry for not posting anything last weekend, I was at the shore with no computer...but here's the things I've been watching, reading, and listening to over the past week...
Watching: Still every so slowly catching up on my YouTube subscription box...so far I'm watching PointlessBlogVlogs. I thought Zoe's vlogs would take me a while, but when you don't keep up with Alfie, the vlogs add up!
Reading: So since I finished Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell at the shore, I haven't read anything since. Fangirl seemed to be a good fit for me, but I hated how it ended and I'm just going to stick with my Nora Roberts obsession. I might read Me Before You as I've seen the movie and it's only fair to read the book.
Listening: No album to be obsessing over yet, but I do love Daya's new song Stay Still, Look Pretty. I also like the song Gold by Kiiara, which is played in Ulta a lot and I heard it on the radio so I thought I'd mention it. Oh and I'm accepting of …

A Tantalizing Bronzer

Teeny tiny samples are so cute, right? So when it's a bronzer, it's even better because we all love looking like a bronze goddess all year.
Immediately, I think this packaging on the Lorac Tantalizer is poorly done because I feel like I'm going to break a nail every time I try to open this. But it's so cute and small...
As for application and wear, it's a fairly cool bronzer, which is not something I go for as I don't try to contour. Then again, there's tan in the name, so you'd think it's meant to tan... Either way, when applied it's a subtle bronze, so being heavy handed won't be a bad thing. Wear is pretty standard. I'm thinking this would be great for me in the winter, or for fairer complexion in general.
Only time will tell if my opinion changes...

Pick Your Vice: Sheer

Way back when the Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette was a thing, in the box came a trial of Gwen's picks of Urban Decay's lipsticks. Today I decided to give the sheer formula, Ex-Girlfriend (browny-pink, your lips but better shade) a go.
First off, I had no idea what to expect the packaging to be like, or how much you can get out of the samples. It's like a pill container. You have to use a sort of lip brush to apply, and you can get at least 5 uses out of it. The color itself is definitely a "me" shade at the moment. It's totally on trend but totally wearable for everyday use. I like how it's sheer, but I feel it would be even more pigmented with an actual stick instead of a brush.
As far as lasting power and wear, it lasted shorter than usual, so about 2-2.5 hours and it almost dried out my lips, which is shocking for a sheer formula as they typically are tinted lip balms. This could also be that my lips are deprived of any lip balm recently and I definitely…

Your "Perfect" Blush Shade

I'm a sucker for most things beauty related, but when it's supposed to be your perfect skin match, I'm more cautious. The idea sounds amazing, but does it really work? Well when I come across a Tarte blush that supposed to be your perfect shade, I gave it a shot since I'm terrible with blush shades.
As far as packaging goes, it's adorable! The Energy Skintuitive Cheek Stain speaks for itself with pretty mixings of purple and pink with a twist up stick and the color is white, until your skin touches it.
As far as how well this matched my skin..well I didn't give it that fair of a shot (surprise, surprise). I've just been to the shore and I'm the tannest I've ever been in a long time. Add to the mix that I nearly forgot to apply this during my makeup routine, so the color probably isn't as true, which is odd since it's supposed to be the perfect shade... I am used to very slight blush colors. I've fallen in love with the rose gold type of bl…

An Olive Oil Body Lotion?

It's no secret that everywhere but my face is drier than the Sahara Desert. That being said, I'm constantly on the hunt for the best lotions out there. So far, Bath & Body Works stole my heart with their lotions. But over Christmas time, my nail salon gave out gifts and inside was this Dream Body Olive Oil Lotion.
Not going to lie, legit thought this was an oil for the longest time, which is why I held off trying it for so long. I hate greasy formulas. But when I'm at my last days with a cut open B&BW lotion and I have to go to the shore for the weekend, I was desperate.
So, to say the least I was surprised with how much I liked it. Not greasy, not thick. It may pour a bit much out at a time, but it does the job fairly well. The smell isn't half bad either..maybe a hint of citrus in there? I'm not too sure, but so far it does the job and I'm not wanting to be sick over the smell. Win-win overall and it should be smooth sailing from here...

These Lip Stick Gloss Combos are Perfect for Summer

I fell in love with them last year, gave them a break, and now falling in love all over again. The magical combination of lipstick, pencil, and gloss is truly underrated. Nars is the only brand that I know that's truly dabbled in it as far as High End brands go (but I could be wrong..). It's mainly the drugstore that carries these beauties.
They wear nicely, easy to apply, and seriously pigmented! The new to me one that I just tried is by the Prestige brand. We used to carry it at Ulta, and while we were clearing it out, it went on sale and I had to stop myself from buying it all. I have no self control when it comes to cheap makeup...But I went the safe route and grabbed a bold lip color.
I'm so used to the elf ones, where I have to build up the color but oh my this stuff was so pigmented I was in shock! It doesn't feel the most hydrating, but it's enough that I can tell it will not kill my lips, but not something I can rely on when I can't find a lip balm. Last…
